Message and Notification Settings
Stay up to date with marketplace activity through in-app notifications.
Notification Types
- New messages — When another participant sends a message in a listing conversation
- Bizzy Lead activity — Bizzy does not create a notification when it creates a lead file. The file appears in Buyers; a later seller message uses the normal New messages notification.
- Listing published — When your listing becomes available to buyers
- Listing moderation — When a reviewer takes post-publication action, such as placing a listing on hold, requesting changes, or taking it down
- NDA activity — When a buyer signs an NDA or creates a pending manual-review access request for one of your listings
- Listing collaboration — When a collaborator accepts, when access is revoked, or when an existing verified Bizzy account has a pending invitation and should check its email
- Messaging moderation — Generic notices for certain moderation outcomes or queue work; these notices do not include message bodies or report details
Viewing Notifications
Select the notification bell in the navigation to see recent notifications. Each update is labeled by its work area—such as Listing update, Buyer message, Bizzy Lead, Confidential access, or Collaboration—so you can scan what changed before opening it. Direct invitation and revocation notices do not open a listing because the recipient may not currently have listing access. Unread notifications show a badge count.
Live Updates and Reconnecting
Each visible signed-in Bizzy tab uses a live notification connection for notification counts and message updates. The connection pauses when you switch away from the tab or hide it, then reconnects and refreshes unread counts and message views when you return. Messages and notifications received while the tab is hidden are still saved. Message bodies are not sent through that connection. After a live update or a local read action, the navigation badges refresh from the current signed-in account's exact unread counts. The app reads the authorized conversation from saved database records after a notification arrives.
The connection can reconnect after a deployment, instance change, network interruption, or about one hour. Reconnecting is expected: Bizzy replays a bounded set of saved notification events when possible and otherwise asks the page to reconcile. Open message threads also refresh when the window regains focus and periodically while visible, so a missed live wakeup does not define whether a message was delivered. Refresh the page if an unread count appears stale for longer than a normal reconnect.
Managing Notifications
- Select a notification to navigate to the relevant page
- Use the Mark as read control on an individual notification
- Use Mark all as read to clear all unread notifications
- Notifications are currently in-app only — there are no user-configurable message email notifications at this time
